Welcome to the Warwickshire Hedgehog Rescue Website

Warwickshire Hedgehog Rescue is a licensed charity set up by a group of people in the Warwickshire area, in order to deal with sick, injured and abandoned Hedgehogs until they can be released back into the wild. All the costs of medication and supplies (e.g. food and other equipment) are met either by donations or out of their own pockets.

h7Hedgehogs are Britain’s most loved species with a huge 42% of the votes in a BBC wildlife magazine poll however, hedgehogs are in danger and there has been an alarming fall in numbers. It is estimated that a quarter of the hedgehog population has been lost in the last ten years.

Have a look around the website and learn more about hedgehogs and please help Warwickshire Hedgehog Rescue in any way you can.

Please note: We work as volunteers from our homes and it is impossible for us to go out and pick up hedgehogs. We rely on members of the public to transport the hedgehogs to us.

Asda Update

You may have seen the tokens being collected in Asda . We received a cheque for £50 on Saturday 13th Feb when Jo the Community Life Champion from Asda visits us to look at our operation. – thank you for everyone who donated your tokens in our section!

“Ulla” checking the small print. not daft these Hedgehogs!!

Many thanks to all those people who gave us donations in 2016 to help with cost of caring for over 350 hedgehogs

Also a very big thanks to the army of foster carers who took over 6o Hedgehogs from us to overwinter. Without their help we would not have been able to rescue so many !!
