This Privacy Policy demonstrates how we respect privacy when we deal with personal information that we collect. It explains the information we collect and how we use it.

If anyone is kind enough to support our work by online payment, their information will be captured by one of our secure third-party payment processors that specialises in the secure online capture and processing of financial transactions. The companies we use to process these online transactions are PayPal and Adyen NV.

Accepting a hedgehog into our care

Name, address, telephone number, gift aid declaration

Legitimate interests - we hold this information on a triage sheet that is completed when the hedgehog arrives and is accepted into our care.  The information is necessary for us to fulfil the intention of returning the hedgehog to the finder, where appropriate.  It is also required to submit gift aid claims.

2. How We Use Your Data

 

We use your data in a manner that is appropriate to the purpose for which the data were collected. For example, we may use your data to:

 

  • reply to enquiries;

  • handle donations or other transactions that the donor initiates;

  • return hedgehogs to the site at which they were found;

  • manage Gift Aid declarations.

We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties. Your data will be passed to third parties in the following circumstances:

 

  • when required by law to do so, for example, by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime;

  • when you ask us to do so.

We take the principles of data minimisation and removal seriously and ensure that we collect the minimum amount of data for the associated purpose and delete those data promptly once they are no longer required.

  • to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner if you feel your rights have been infringed.

7. Website Users And Inappropriate Website Content
