Other organisations that may be able to help you:

  1. You will need a high-sided box that will hold a hot-water bottle on the base.  The box needs to be wide enough to allow for space around the bottle so that the hedgehog may move off and away from the bottle, if it is too warm.
  2. Line the box with several layers of newspaper.
  3. Place a hot water bottle in one corner of the box.
  4. Cover the hot water bottle with a towel or cloth (not a fluffy fabric and not one with loose fibres).

  5. Pick up the hedgehog using thick gardening gloves or a towel.
  6. Place the hedgehog on the covered hot water bottle.
  7. Place a further towel or cloth over the hedgehog.
  8. If the carer says to give water and food, place a small dish of water in the box and, if possible, a dish of wet or dry meat-based cat or dog food.
